I’ve finally got round to updating my website. Among changing nappies, playing with dinosaurs, watching postman pat and doing household chores I’ve managed it…. just. As well as the new look website I’ve updated my logo too, its a bit more simple than the last one and more of an icon. I’ve also added some extra work to my portfolio that I hadn’t included before…
o many of my designs and illustrations are inspired by my favourite lyrics, and guess what… this one is as well. The happily titled “Need You Like Water In My Lungs” is inspired by the lyrics to the song “Play Crack The Sky” by Brand New from their album Deja Entendu. The album has been a big influence and favourite for many people I know and one that I can never get tired…
Among other various things, I’ve been working on an idea for a logo to use on any illustrations or promotional material. I wanted it to be fairly illustrative looking with an element of my own style in there. Also as my style has changed from gloomy gothic to more dark and playful, I wanted this to reflect in the logo too.
Once I had a font that I liked I started to play around with the letters individually, making sure they looked right and flowed into each other to look like a logo rather than a font. Extra curves and flicks were then added to give character to the lettering.
I’m starting to get excited about stickers and stuff now!!!!
