Autumn has firmly rooted its passage into the grim few months of winter we all find so depressing. I like autumn though. The colours of the leaves are fantastic, lots of deep reds, oranges and yellows set against low sunlit blue skies. Sunsets are spectacular this time of year too, although most of us are usually still in work and miss them.
I’ve finally got round to updating my website. Among changing nappies, playing with dinosaurs, watching postman pat and doing household chores I’ve managed it…. just. As well as the new look website I’ve updated my logo too, its a bit more simple than the last one and more of an icon. I’ve also added some extra work to my portfolio that I hadn’t included before…
o many of my designs and illustrations are inspired by my favourite lyrics, and guess what… this one is as well. The happily titled “Need You Like Water In My Lungs” is inspired by the lyrics to the song “Play Crack The Sky” by Brand New from their album Deja Entendu. The album has been a big influence and favourite for many people I know and one that I can never get tired…

I was recently asked by Tony over at We Heart Arts www.weheartarts.com to participate in their latest charity project the Awesomebet. The project is based on 26 different illustrations by 26 different illustrators each representing a letter of the alphabet, where each illustrator will produce an Awesome print for their assigned letter. Happy New Year!! 2012 was an absolutely mental year for me. As well as having a little bouncing baby boy, we decided to move house too, just 2 weeks before christmas – although not quite our choice due to the whole buying process.I don’t recommend it, no, don’t try it… especially with a 6 month old baby…. and a cat….
Phew!! It’s been hot this week hasn’t it?!! I love the sun, it makes everyone happy. Everything seems to calm down and relax a little and people seem to be friendlier. That is until they get to work and have to sit for 8 hours in a sweaty grumpy office where people fight over windows and fans, hoping that management will fork out for an air conditioning system. Things have been pretty busy at Belle Tragedie HQ recently, mainly DIY work and entertaining my cat, but I’ve finally got round to getting some new prints to sell in my online shop. I love getting printed artwork and promotional stuff delivered. It’s like Christmas!! Aswell as the prints, I’ve given the online shop a bit of a refresh, just to bring it more into line with the main site. I prefer to design websites rather than code them but I do enjoy learning how…
Does anyone else get cold hands whilst working on the computer? It’s normally only my right hand which I use for operating my mouse, the left is a bit chilly but not causing any discomfort. I’m guessing its something to do with circulation, or some kind of mathematical equation to do with the angle of my arm? Nobody else…
